How to let my ferret get use to the hammock.?

I got my ferret and hes awesome. But he wont sleep in his hammock…I think he is afraid of heights…is this normal? He wont climb the ramp thing in his cage to get to his hammock, im worried about him…

  1. don’t be worried. he will only act in a normal and natural way. he may prefer to sleep under a pile of straw — they are not the same as hamsters etc.. just leave the hammock and once it smells a bit more like his he may venture in it… or he may not.. in my experience ladders and second floors hold little enjoyment for ferrets - we make an adventure course out of buckets, pipe, blankets, etc etc in the garden - just for a bit of fun - but what they really love is chasing bunnies! remember what their natural state of mind is all about..

  2. ferrets usually like to be tucked under a blanket or in a tent like house, we have 1 and he loves to sleep in between the blankets. try a bundled up blanket or something he can get into and peek out of! good luck

  3. put it flat on the floor and put him in it. strange things can be scary for them.
